COSTS: As we are a small studio, we are able to keep costs low: £120 for a 4-hour session and only £180 for a full 8-hour day. This includes a mixed & mastered CD to take home and the services of a professional producer who can help with melody, lyrics & arrangement and can also play acoustic, electric & bass guitar, keyboards and program the drums etc on your tracks.
LOCATION: Joe Public Studios is based in Barnet (north London / Herts), is on the Piccadilly line (Cockfosters) and is 5 minutes drive from the M25 (j24) and the North Circular (A406).
TIMES: The studio is open from 10am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday all year round - please visit our online diary to check available dates.
STYLES: Pop, rock, alternative, acoustic, electronica, soul, funk and any combination of the above! We don't do bands and we don't specialise in R'n'B or Hip Hop...

If
you have made recordings at home and haven't managed to get them
sounding as good as you hoped, or just can't get the levels right, you
could probably do with a bit of help. I will take your raw audio and
midi files and treat them to a full-on make-over. Using whatever
techniques are required to bring your track up to scratch including
drum replacement; vocal tuning; timing correction; recording
new guitar, bass and keyboard tracks where required; corrective and
creative use of EQ; effects, delays & reverbs whatever it takes
to make sure your track
comes back sounding as good as it possibly can!
Perhaps you have recorded a demo with your band and were never happy with how it turned out? I can remix it - quite drastically if required! Provided you have the raw audio files I can make the drums sound like they were recorded somewhere bigger and better, tweak all the instruments up to sound fabulous, tune and timing correct the vocals and generally bully the whole thing into a shape you'll be proud of...
Typically a track will take a day - depending on the number of tracks and the quality of both the recording and the performance. So allow about £180 per track, £240 if you want it mastered by a Grammy nominated mastering engineer.
The session will be unattended - in other words, you won't be there - so give me some guidance as to what you were unhappy with in your original mix and what you would like it to sound like - leave the rest to me! I will remix the track and email it back to you in mp3 format for approval - I will happily make the final few tweaks you require before finalising it and sending you the finished track - either on CD by post or by online file transfer.
