I've spent the last two days creating a new website

June 27, 2019

My old website was a very basic one that I created myself using the limited HTML knowledge I accrued an unmentionable number of years ago and it was time for a complete overhaul.

My old website was looking tired and flat and wasn't really doing much for me in terms of attracting new artists to the studio. It was created from scratch using simple HTML coding and I had resisted the rise of packages such as Wix, Wordpress or SquareSpace - until now.

The new one is created in a drag-and-drop package provided by my web host 123-reg.co.uk and uses elegant templates, automatically formats for different devices, sorts out some basic SEO, has something called parallax (some sort of laxative I assume) and keeps everything organised without having to faff about with FTP. After a steep learning curve, it seems great and my website looks far better than it has in years. It's still a work in progress and I will finesse it further over the next few days, but so far, so good!

Apparently a blog can help your SEO so here I am, blogging. This first post is a pretty boring one I suppose, but I'll write more as artists come and go from the studio and my other projects, such as composing library music, mixing and mastering, and performing guitar sessions, create more interesting things to talk about!
