MUSIC PRODUCTION
A day in the studio typically starts wth a discussion about who your favourite artists are, what you are trying to achieve and how we might go about getting there within your budget.
From there, we will spend some time playing through your song to iron out any problems and get things like the arrangement, the lyrics, the key and the tempo right.
Once the song is in good shape, we can begin recording. We usually start by creating a quick 'demo' version of the song with a rough vocal and then begin fleshing it out with the real instruments - drums, guitars, keyboards, samples, beats - whatever is needed!
Quite how far we get on the day depends on how much work the song needs in the first place, how many instruments the song needs and how much fixing up things like vocals need. If you are creating a good quality demo track, you can expect to get that finished in a day. However, if you are after a release quality production, that is likely to take two days or more.
All my services as a musician and music producer for the day are included in the price, with extra hours being charged at the hourly rate of £28 per hour.
The cost of hiring session musicians, if required, is not included. A session musician, for instance a drummer, cellist, or keyboard player, typically costs from about £80 per track and can be arranged for you in advance.
